A June 26, 2008 book signing at the Sisson Library in Pagosa Springs, Colorado was very successful with 31 attendees and 21 book sales. Moonlight Books in Pagosa and Maria's Book Store in Durango, both in Colorado, have taken books on consignment.

A Kalama, Washington book club meeting on July 24 had 10 attendees with several more people calling to say they could not make the meeting. We had a lively discussion for 2 hours which appeared to be enjoyed by all.

In the past month I attended an all day session of the Northwest Association of Book Publishers. The morning session was devoted to how to sell books on Amazon. Heartfelt is presently available on Amazon and we are presently formatting it to be available on Kindle, Amazon's new reader. The afternoon session was devoted to the numerous ways to obtain publicity on the Internet, such as on YouTube, My Place, Facebook, EONS, etc.

The past weekend I attended the Willamette Writer's Conference in Portland, OR. This is always an enlightening and informative event. The most significant discovery for me was to find out that the newest websites and blogs are now being developed in PHP and not html. I may separate my blogs from this website using PHP in the near future and leave this website devoted to the marketing of Heartfelt.

I have just contacted Powell's Bookstore in Portland to see if they will take my book on consignment. I have submitted a query letter and the book to them as they requested.

I have just viewed Jim Duncan's video about his TV program, "Senior's showcase" for authors and plan on contacting him to see if he will interview me for Heartfelt.

Google has a new section called KNOL where I have placed an ad about Heartfelt.

Heartfelt will be in the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association's September "Leafing Out," a semiannual brochure advertising books coming out in the Pacific Northwest including Canada and Alaska.

A big coup would be to get a review of Heartfelt in some of the Northwest's newspapers, particularly Portland's Oregonian. First I want to get a more impressive platform available for the reviewing editors. In this regard I will be doing an op-ed article on, Leucentis, the Miracle Drug for Treating Macular degeneration, as well as other health related articles. The Lucentis article is now available on this website --- see dick's_blog.

On 11/6/08 the book club recently formed at the Lacamas Swim & Sport club met at our home to dicuss my book, Heartfelt. After a Chili dinner cooked by Patti, we had a lively discussion lasting about 2 hours which, I believe, was enjoyed by all.

Heartfelt, was available at the Wordstock book fair this past weekend. I do not yet know if any of my books were sold.
